Dangerous Goods Endorsement Beginners Course

When you successfully complete this course you will receive an Endorsement Certificate you can take to NZTA to update your Drivers Licence. The Unit Standards you are successful in passing will be applied to your NZQA Record of Achievement if you achieve the Endorsement Certificate for the Basic Course.

All Dangerous Goods courses include:

   *  Theory Training - see below for study material

   *  Assessment at our site - closed book theory test for renewals, Open book theory test for basic

   *  DG Pocket Guide

Dangerous Goods Courses (Basic for those doing it for the first time or their Renewal expired over a year ago) include:

   *  Dangerous Goods Document Holder - which includes Operators Handbook, Pocket Guide and Emergency Response Form

   *   Here is a D Endorsement Study Guide or if you prefer to do this online - click here

Dangerous Goods Renewal Courses include:

   *  Pocket Guide 

   *   Here is a D Endorsement Renewal Study Guide that MUST be studied before your course.

When you successfully complete this course you will be qualified to transport dangerous goods on a public road. 

Transport operators, couriers and others transporting for 'hire or reward' usually need this endorsement. If you are not certain whether you need this, check the information about the Dangerous Goods endorsement here.

Pre-requisites for ALL STUDENTS:

If you have limited English speaking or understanding skills let us know as it may limit your ability to pass this course. If you struggle with reading/writing let us know when booking as we have instructors who can assist with this.  We do not allow translators.

You must hold a NZ Drivers Licence that is either:

  • Learners
  • Restricted
  • Full

Pre-requisites for RENEWAL Drivers:

You must hold a D Endorsement on your NZ Drivers Licence that has not been expired for more than one year.

For the Dangerous Goods Course (Basic) allow:

  • 6 hours theory (if you complete online allow 2 hours instead for assessment)
  • Open book Theory Test

For the Dangerous Goods Renewal Course allow:

  • 1-2 hours theory
  • Closed book Theory Test

BEGINNERS COURSE $350.00 +GSTFri 6 Mar 9:00am - 5:30pm You have never had a D Endorsement or your current D Endorsement has expired by more than a year.

Waka Kotahi Voucher $25.00 +GST Waka Kotahi charges you to have your licence endorsed when you complete this course. You can purchase a voucher for your employee through us to save them having to pay for this. Endorsements are not valid unitl they are endorsed on your licence.
