The course "Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) AT YOUR PREMISES" has finished

ASWEFA brings Wheels, Tracks and Roller Worksite Competency and/or Endorsement training to your worksite.  Enquire now and you will recieve a call back to discuss your needs and to schedule a training date.

When you successfully complete this course you will recieve a Competency Worksite Certificate for the machinery you have driven.  If you hold a Full New Zealand Driver's Licence or a Restricted about to go for your Full Assessment you will also receive an Endorsement Certificate you can take to NZTA to update your Drivers Licence.  You will also have the relevant Unit Standards applied to your NZQA Record of Achievement.

When indicating your preferred dates, allow 2.5 hours for one endorsement, and 3 hours for two or three endorsements.  Beginner practical training can also be booked and we ask you allow a full day for this when operating a tracks machinery, less time will be required if you are operating a wheels or roller only (ie Loader)

This course includes:

  • Pre-study manual posted at least one week before training
  • 2 hours theory.
  • Closed book Theory Test.
  • Practial Assessment on simulated road for the T, W or both assessments.
  • Practical training prior to assessment for Beginners only.

Pre-requisites for ALL STUDENTS:

No pre-requisites.  If you have limited English speaking or understanding let us know when booking as it may affect you passing this course.  If you struggle with reading/writing let us know when booking as we have instructors who can assist with this.

Pre-requisites for EXPERIENCED STUDENTS ONLY:

Those booking under the EXPERIENCED operators course need to be able to drive the machinery they want to be assessed against.  If you cannot do this you need to book the Beginners Course which includes practical training to avoid failing the experienced operators course.

If you are EXPERIENCED and don't hold a Full New Zealand Drivers Licence you will need to do a "Competency" Course

WTR Endorsements (doing an endorsement course will also ensure you are issued a worksite competency licence as well):

To complete an Endorsement course you must hold a current New Zealand Full Drivers Licence, for the weight of vehicle of your chosen endorsment:

  • Class 1 - endorsements for vehicles with a Gross Laden Weight of up to 18,000 kg.
  • Class 2 - required for an endorsment for vehicles with a Gross Laden Weight exceeding 18,000 kgs.
  • WHEELS - with a W endorsement you can drive a registered and warranted special type of vehicle that isn't a forklift, passenger vehicle, tractor, fire engine, trade vehicle or vehicle recoverly service vehicle on a public road.
  • TRACKS - with a T endorsement you can drive a registered and warranted vehicle that runs on self-laying tracks on a public road.
  • ROLLERS - with an R endorsement you can drive a special type of vehicle that runs on rollers on a public road.
